2007 Nordic World Ski Championships
Halti's worldwide visibility on TV will yield 700 million contacts at the beginning of 2007 Halti to be the main sponsor of the World Ski Championships in 2007 Halti, the Finnish market leader in outdoor clothing, has made a marketing agreement with the 2007 World Ski Championships. The agreement makes Halti one of the main sponsors of the 2007 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Sapporo, Japan, where athletes will compete for world championships in cross country, ski jumping and Nordic combined. The agreement follows up on other steps taken to increase Halti's visibility at international sports events in 2007. Early in the year, Halti announced its cooperation agreement with the 2007 Alpine World Ski Championships in Åre. The new agreement serves to further bolster Halti's position in Finland, the Nordic countries and the continental European market. "We are truly proud that we are now in a position to really make our mark on the world of winter sports. We believe that cooperation will strengthen Halti's profile alongside large international brands. Thanks to the agreement, our vigorous product development in cross country skiing apparel will gain global attention and Halti will become an even more diverse player in winter sports," says Martti Uusitalo, Halti's vice president. The agreement means strong outlays on international product marketing and exports from Halti. The partnership guarantees massive exposure for Halti's products, such as during television coverage of events. "Halti will be one of the most visible winter sports brands in the winter of 2007. We will be in the public eye during the whole month of February, from the Alpine World Ski Championships in Åre to the closing ceremony of the Nordic World Ski Championships in Sapporo," adds Uusitalo. The spectator figures of the 2003 World Championships in skiing and Alpine skiing are the best indicator of the exposure generated by the agreement: a total of about 700 million viewers. The agreement gives Halti the exclusive right to the textiles designed for the event, along with other items from Halti's product groups. Halti is responsible for the official competition products and will dress up 3,500 volunteers. Halti also has the option to make a similar agreement for the 2009 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec, the Czech Republic.
