The Finnish clothing brand Halti
partner of the  Åre 2007 Alpine World Ski Championships

The Finnish well known sport brand Halti is a known sport clothing supplier and partner of the best skiers in the world. Halti supplies among others the Finnish Alpine Ski Team, Nordic Combined - and Ski Jumping Team. Kalle Palander, Tanja Poutiainen, Janne Ahonen, Hannu Manninen and the Norwegian Freestyle legend Kari Traa have strongly been involved in product development and in brand building.

In Finland Halti has achieved a market leading position and is now heading also for the export market in a bigger scale. With the newly signed marketing agreement, Halti is one of Åre 2007 World Championships’ nine international main cooperation partners. The contract includes also the option for corresponding agreement with 2009 Val d’Isere World Championships. In addition to the massive brand visibility Halti has also made an agreement about the merchandising exclusivity -rights for the textiles designed for the event and for other product groups belonging to Halti’s product portfolio.  

For Halti the world’s second largest winter sport event after the Olympic Games, the Alpine World Championships is a natural extension and addition to the cooperation with the Finnish Alpine Ski Team that has lasted for many years.  Halti has successfully been established in the alpine skiing world by cooperation with the International Ski Federation FIS, German Ski Federation DSV and by clothing several international ski schools and –clubs.

In the future Halti will launch an Åre World Championships 2007 Collection that includes in addition to technical sport-specific clothing also after-ski  and casual  products.

Kalle Palander the part-owner of Halti Oy since last autumn feels that this cooperation will make the coming World Championships like a home-race. ”I am really glad about this historic deal. The World Championships in Åre are both for Halti and me a change to show what we are made off. Surely we will need to build a sauna and a hole in the ice so that I can entertain my competitors after the race”, comments the gold medalist of 1999 Slalom World Championship, Kalle Palander.

Åre is the most known ski resort in the Nordic Countries and the mecca of alpine skiing in Sweden. It is exactly Åre and its history that give an excellent platform for developing Halti’s export operations and marketing the brand. We are very proud that we can begin this cooperation from Åre. Halti’s roots are in Finnish Lapland and in Scandinavia so Åre and Sweden are an excellent match for us”, comments Halti’s Managing Director Mr Risto Salo.
