Halti – equipping the Olympic Team

Halti acted, for the first time, as the official clothing partner of the Finnish Olympic Team in the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. Close cooperation with top athletes over more than ten years has provided Halti with extensive expertise and experience in persistent and professional equipment cooperation in the world of top sports. With these starting points in mind, it is easy to start designing the Olympic collection.

Halti will also equip the Olympic Team in the London Summer Olympics in August 2012, presenting Halti with whole new challenges when equipping the very best of summer events. The unpredictable climate in London also brings requirements for the design of the collection – weather conditions may vary from a scorching heat to a cold rain during the games.

The Olympic collection is designed by Halti’s head designer Martti Kellokumpu and fashion designer Sini Sinisalo. “When designing Olympic collections, the Finnish blue and white colours flow easily on paper. The summer collection gets its inspiration from Finnish nature, the archipelago and its beautiful rocky islets formed by the sea. Our aim is to support team spirit and positive atmosphere through fashionable clothing. We hope that the collection provides the team with more enthusiasm and performance so that the team can be proud of its equipment. We at Halti show pride in this cooperation,” says Martti Kellokumpu who represented Finland in the Calgary 1988 Winter Olympics.
