Sanni Leinonen, Alpine skier

Sanni Leinonen

Our young Alpine princess made her mark on the Finnish Alpine skiing scene when she made it to the Finnish national team as the youngest skier in its history in 2006. At the age of 16, the former track and field athlete won her first World Cup points in Levi in November 2006, showing that there are nerves of steel and unyielding ambition behind her ice-blue eyes.

Born in Siilinjärvi, Leinonen’s best result was seventh position in slalom in Maribor achieved in the 2009/2010 season.

Because of a knee injury in January 2011, Sanni announced in August 2012 that she is putting an end to her career. We wish Sanni all the best for the future!
